Arcadia to host 31st annual Empty Bowl Dinner fundraiser on Nov 11 - Glenside Local
November 4th, 2024 | By Ryan Genova
Arcadia University’s 31st Annual Empty Bowl Dinner will be held on Monday, November 11 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm in Grey Towers Castle.
Empty Bowl is intended to draw attention to food insecurity. More than 1,000 ceramic bowls of all shapes, sizes, and colors are created by community members each year, and are used as soup bowls for dinner. The bowls can be taken home to serve as a reminder that for many people around the world, an empty bowl is the reality of their mealtime.
This year, the event is raising money for Caring for Friends, a Philadelphia non-profit that raises money to feed home-bound folks as well as the unhoused population, and the Knights Resource Pantry on campus.
A ticket includes a handcrafted ceramic bowl and all-you-can-eat bread, desserts, drinks, and soup.
Tickets for Empty Bowl are $12 for students and $15 for community members. Kids under 3 are free.
